Hi Matt

Just been through a similar thing with the HG.

I have an unknown rebuilt 69 308 with Stock VN EFI top end.

Hasnt run for 5 years, and was running like a pig - backfiring through the airbox, idling poorly and not reving.

Theres some great people on this site that will be able to help you.

Spent weeks working through the issues.

Firstly, do you have a check engine light??

If so, you can use it to interegate the computer.

It may give you an error code that you can track down and fix - or it might not.

Mines now running much better and the fix for me was to install a standard memcal in the computer. The aftermarket tune in the other memcal was no good.

I was lent a Holden workshop manual to help me work through it which is great - tells you all about the mechanicals, electrical, engine management and fuel system. Gives you all the error codes and how to work through fixing them.

Let me know if I can help you work through anything.

Cheers

Jeremy

Crow used to do a package of a cam & memcal, or cam+memcal+headers at one stage.

Anything that deviates as far as the crow cam from the std factory one will need to have the memcal re-mapped, which is generally done on a dyno. If you can ID the cams model #, and its one of the popular ones that they sold in the 90s, you may find someone who already has a re-programmed memcal that suits it, and most tuners can read that program from another memcal, copy it, and burn it into your memcal.

Cheers,

Mick
