Hi all. I assume you have all been asked this a million times already and understand there is no definite answer. My reason for asking is that every time I visit my daughter and son in-law, all I see is good money rusting away in the paddock under a tarp. They have two HK Munros just sitting there going to waste. I am pretty sure they were both originally six cylinder ( haven`t got under the heavy tarp to look for tags) but one now has a 253 and the other a 307. The 307 was last reg two years ago, the 253 about 8 years ago. Both cars are complete albeit looking a rather sad due to the ravages of time and weather (NEGLECT !!) The more I urge him to sell so they can put the cash towards building, the more stubborn he becomes. What would be a ballpark value for these two cars? And before anyone ask`s..they are not for sale apparentley. I will try and get some pics to post. ..Cheers....Brian

Scrap to many tens of thousands. Depends upon condition, rare parts, GTS etc etc etc. Until they are looked at properly its impossible to say.

2-20k each .could be double that if they are top condition (unlikely).Its hard to put a value on something i havnt seen.Rust is a big factor to the price and that big tarp wil trap moisture itd help to take it off on a hot day an let em dry .--keeo

Hi,i know,iknow,ive posted these links before but Briane,in my opinion,these 2 examples is what i would go off.This is what HAS sold,and the price it sold at.
So,if the ones you are talking about have been negleted and need full restos,i think they are worth give or take $5K,thats without seeing it.

A friend of mine just sold and original 80837 HT GTS Sebring orange,with interior but no motor or box,with rust in lower quarters,etc for $5K in October last year.

Hope this helps you out a bit Brian.

Thanks guys. It`s food for thought. After listening to what you have all said, I would guess one is in the 5K range and the other about 10-15K . At least it gives me some ammo to hit him with. ( my daughter really wants to build) Thanks again.....Brian

Hi Brian,if you posts some pics you would get a more accurate idea to what each car is worth.

I didnt read your post properly and failed to read that both cars are complete.

In need of resto,i would agree to a 10-15K range.

Hey Briane

So how do you think the conversations going to go;
Wife; Hi hon, dad thinks you should sell the munros so I can buy that kitchen & lounge suite I want, what do you think?
Husband; Darling what a great Idea,why didnt I think of it myself, gee your dads a real help.

Why dont you leave him be, hes probably planning to build a shed with a beer fridge so he can fix his rusty monaros in peace

Haha. I have already told her several times that the Monaro will be used as our wedding car so we HAVE to keep it. It eventually sunk in!
