Gday Kanks, Let me say that I am no expert. But hopefully my suggestions can point you in the right direction. You say you are running a 304 which to me means an injected 5 litre. I would use/modify/buy the factory original 304 motor throttle cable as it suits the motor and then modify either the cars original accelerator pedal to suit the 304 cable or an accelerator pedal from a vehicle that had the 304 as a factory fit and modify that to suit your car.
If you are running a carby(at a guess a Holley or similar) then a cable kit should be available for purchase. Which should be easy to fit up. As to which one to use, sometimes the expensive ones are not the best. Just keep hold of the receipt and try and to fit the product before you cant return it for a swap or refund.
Hope this helps in someway
Nicho.

Hi Pete You getting closer?? Heres some pictures of my setup. I cant tell you what cable it is, but Id bet its Commodore V8 - VN-VS. Matbe mick can confirm this. It looks like they modified the pedal linkage inside the car, but it had way too much slop and wouldnt open the throttle body completely. I had a local guy add some tube to the throttle cable support bracket around 40mm long and cut a slot for the cable to go through. Bought the peddle up from the floor and the throttle body opens fully now. Let me know if you need any more photos or dimensions. Cheers Jeremy The G will roll again.... |
