Hi Ive just bought a motor with a 350 crank its 40 thou over and the piston are ACL 9570 Duratech and are shot.Should I go for 60 thou over or look for a better block.Are ACL good pistons or are there better options.Rods are A9L I think.Thanks Mike.

ya cant get any pistons or metric ring from ACL at the minute,or in foreseeable future start afresh, gunna be easier and maybe even better

hmmm, not sure there,its gets a bit beyond me after a while with all the stuff you can do with relieving the blocks etc, but from past experience with a similar engine i had, you can go a speed pro hypereutectic with metric rings etc etc or a forged from from the likes of SRP, but the forges are expensive and being that your are already up 0.040, you would have to sonic it first then go from there before you do anything.
it might be better starting with a fresh or fresher block and then going from there, i will do some homework and go through my notes and post up some more info up for you

Thanks Frank probably be better to get a new block but any info on pistons and rods would be appreciated,thanks Mike.
