Hi as the name sugests Im considering supercharging a 253, yea I know before we start why bother why not save the bucks and stick in a 308 but I have a thing for these little noise makers,

the simple choise would be a B&M 144 0r 177 but where talking real $$ for one of them, Ive been reading a bit about the toyota SC14 fitted to 3.8 V6's and I'm wondering if one of these might be a suitable alternative, I have access to a lathe and mill so I'm willing to machine manifolds and plates etc my question is will the little SC14 be able to pump enough to feed a basicaly sctock 253 to say 10psi?

They feed enough for low-boost on a 3.8L V6, so Id say it would be marginal on a 253.
Youll need an intercooler if you want to push 10psi out of one.

Perhaps work on mounting a pair of them?

Cheers,

Mick

what about the M90 we considering useing one on me mates 250 Xflow, you can get them from wreckers here in OZ im just using the ebay as an example. you can also buy pulley kits from the states and would be a great set up using a Blow thru carby and intercooler.

Thats a good idea bundy.

The M90 is basically the same as the VS-VY supercharger used on the V6.
They need intercooling when boosted up as well.

They have a big aftermarket support both locally and in the USA, so getting an intercooler (sandwich style)and smaller pulleys for more boost is easy (yella terra even do the smaller pulleys).

The M112 would be a better option though - more volume per stroke would mean less heat generated to get the same amount of boost.

Cheers,

Mick
