I am buying a 308 HJ Prem that needs an aircleaner. Luckily I got about 40 of them many years ago from an LPG converter. Theres a few HQ ones amongst them, and good for me I have a really good HJ one!

Its funny how supply & demand comes & goes in waves.
They were hot property in the early to mid 80s - when 253 & 308 H-series & early commodores were traded into car yards. To pass roadworthy, the caryard had to remove the popular aftermarket air cleaners & fit a factory one back on.
Then through the 90s those cars no longer turned up in car yards (or if they were, they were quickly wholesaled) and the demand fell - thats when you got to see heaps of them around the swaps. Most people then either sold them for a pittance, or chucked them away for scrap (like I did with a heap of early commodore ones).
Now its gone back the other way - they are in demand, and supplies are low!
Should we start buying up VN/VP commodore airboxes? Thats about the same relative situation at present - currently worth nothing. I doubt theyll ever get as highly sought after as H-series items though.
Cheers,

Youre probably better of buying up all the skyline or honda civic air boxes as there are still plenty of people whorealise the benefit of a good cai and panel filter in the commodore world....
...then again, are honda civics ever going to be a popular retro car?? Man I hope not!!!!

I hope they become even more popular at the scrap steel merchants!

I picked one up at a local small swapmeet for $5, guy didnt even get it out of his boot before the 5er was in his hand. I was asked 3 or 4 times while doing the rounds, how much I paid, I answered a fair price....
