if you were serious about buying this car i wouldnt listen to any crap or heresay on any internet forums....myself,if i didnt have the time to look at it personally i would pay someone like byron or warren to inspect the car and give you a report....im with byron on this,i think this car is on the money even with a bit of extra mud sticking to it..extremely low production and there would not be too many left....if it was a green ford it would have been sold 10 times over..

i could not agree any more with the above comments, absolutely spot on..and i agree that if it was a green ford, it would have sold 10 times over and they would be punching on to get at it, but no, not us GM boys, we are too worried about mirrors that appear to be there, then not there, and holes consoles and in trunk areas(8 pgs dedicated to this on here?? oh man..)to go have a look and then strike up a deal for what could be a really good car with the lowest of low builds, but no, yak yak about it, destroy its integrity and still end up with nothing in your shed

Thats great Frank but I live in WA and I would have to fly to Queensland to get this done. You know I dont care about non matching mirrors and stuff like that but there seems to be an underlying issue with this car that no one actually has the balls to say so. After a SS this is my dream car in the right colour (manual would be better) but because I do not have the knowledge base like a lot of you blokes I have been scared off. Hopefully one of you blokes that knows this car could steer me in the right direction by email.

Thanks for the confidence Greg, but im no HQ aficionado. If it was me looking to buy the car my first point of call would be the Holden Monaro Register. Andrew Id make a call in that direction...

But really, $50k or thereabouts for what is the GMH equivalent of an XA/XB GT auto sedan. Damn cheap in my eyes. This car should be prized much higher than a SLR5000 (except A9X or L34 optioned example).

Controversial car this one, but Im still interested. Im not going to slander the car or its owner but if the un-named issue is a fact, (and I know what to look for) Ill simply offer something like $8000 less than his asking price. He might say no and Ill kick back on the gold coast and get drunk in some night club for a few days.
If I do purchase the car Ill be sure to come back here and give a full report, thats a promise.

Everyone Ive spoken to about this car has been very respectful of the owner and offered me equal respect as a prospective buyer.

i think you underestimate your talents byron...i dont believe there is a need to be an expert in one particular model..its more about how to describe a car and to have the contacts to call and ask the pertinant questions on what is or is not quite correct...after you looked at that vehicle for me a couple of weeks ago i would not hesitate to send you to look at a car worth 100k...
