Hi all, I am trying to locate the speedo cable hole after it comes from the back of the speedometer. Common sense tells me that the speedo cable should go in a straight line from the back of the speedo and through the firewall. The hole seems to have been plated over so just want to make sure with the help of the experts on this site before we go putting a hole in the firewall, cant find anything in the manual either.

Hi, Heaps of reference to this on the net. Basically if its got an aussie designed transmission (speedo gear drivers side)the cable goes down thru an oval grommet hole near the accelerator and if its got an American designed transmission (speedo gear passengers side)it will go out thru a round hole in the firewall above the trans tunnel near the bottom corner of the inside cover of ther wiper motor. Its a steep learning curve getting to know all of the critical diferences between the models but very interesting, good luck.
