I am piecing back together the original 186S that came with a HK GTS that i purchased a while back. 1 engine has been made out of two so therefore there are extra parts I want to identify whether these parts belong in the engine or are just leftovers from the replacement engine.

Crank 7431320
C7
22

Cam
7428531

Any help would be great
Thanks

The camshaft is listed in the HK Parts Catalogue as a 186S Cam. The crank part number that you have quoted is not listed in the HK book.

Hi,
the part number is not in the EH, HD, or HR parts listings either, however these are listed as manual or Automatic!

Which would mean that they are listed as an assembly, this is why the numbers wont line up.

The 186S had the steel crank as far as I know and the date would be a give away it should be close to your engine date normally.

I am not sure to read those early crank dates but someone will know.

The crank for the 186S should be the same as all pre mid-1967 red 6s or any 186S, 3100X, 186X or 2600S with forged crank. Normally cast or forged parts dont have part numbers on them, only casting numbers hence you wont find them in parts catalogues.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the cam will be going in as it still looks pretty good. As for the crank since it has the numbers on it then it must be a steel 186 Crank?
