Hey,
I just purchased a ford XB coupe with a factory sunroof and apon removal of the headliner i found that the tray where the actual retractable roof goes in to is rusted out with large holes and broken drain pipes. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to go about repairing one of these sunroofs? perhaps a new tray or repairing the original?

the part you are talking about is commonly referred to as the "sump". drains holes have been blocked over the years and as you say the pipes have been broken, so naturally, rust. you can get a new one folded up, or if i was you, id just repair the old one thats in the car now. or, alternatively, if you are not really fussed remove it all and weld up the hole, as much as i like feature and have on in my car, they are an expensive, high maintenance, unreliable problematic item that was never any good from day one... but cool as feature!!

Mine will have the same problem.I don't think it would be too hard to get one made up as they are pretty much just a simple tray with holes for the tubes and it would be invisible once the lid and roof lining were re-fitted.
