Hi All,
It is Mrs jayhk69 here. I had problem starting our AU yesterday, thought it was from the cold. Car started but very sluggish, went to shop, when I came out car wouldn't start, rolled it forward and all of a sudden it started, but was sluggish.
Drove home parked car on the front lawn, now I can't get the smartshield hand symbol to go off.
Any suggestions very gratefully appreciated, as I think Jayc is ready to pull his hair out ha ha, me too for that matter.
Cheers and many thanks in advance

Firstly I would disconnect the battery for an hour or so. After re connecting the battery if it still won't work I would try leaving the ignition on for an hour as this used to re set the old Smartlock system.

Have you tried www.fordforums.com.au and/or www.fordaustraliaforums.com ?

I'd be interested to know what the answer to your problem is as I am on the hunt for an AU2 Fairlane and if it ever does that I'd like to be able to fix it.

Hi Jim,
Apologies for not replying earlier. Just got car back from auto electrians. Problem was it needed a new/replacement computer and bcm. Auto electrian was very reasonable in his pricing. At least it all fixed now, relief yeah ha ha
