Hi there, i have recently bought a HG GTS Monaro that is in serious need of restoration. Car cancer has ravaged the ole girl. The whole boot cavity is more or less gone, also sills, lower rear guards, panel below rear window, panel under rear quarter windows, floor pans, pillars, panel behind rear number plate, lower sections of front guards, inner front guards, panel behind front number plate, parts of fire wall, seat mounts underneath
are in need of serious attention!! I am are aware of the rare spares panel sections such as the section under rear quarter glass etc and i will be purchasing these for the build.
but for all the rest i was hoping i could swap off something else?
I have an option on a very tidy ( little rust) sedan and was hoping someone could tell me what panels etc i could use from this to replace the rusted ones (see above) on my monaro? Obviously a doner monaro would be ideal but as we all know there are no cheap doner monaros anymore...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Lucas

Toolman Take your time and study what others have done, most of the panels are available. There was a link on here to the FB<EK holden forum where some enterprising chap had cut the firewall, floor, bootfloor and beaverpanel out of a good rust free HG sedan then they removed same from the monaro and sat the roof and rear quarters onto the HG's floor, firewall etc. The workmanship looked good but someone must have got cold feet as the article got pulled from the site.(May have have been a tag issue). On Oldholden's forum in the shed section you will find an album under the name of Streetneat (Andrew C)If you have a rainy day or two he has uploaded dozens of photos on monaro reconstructions as well as welding tips. I think he may even be living on your side of the ditch now. Get some opinions from others. goodluck Oily

Gday Guys Andrew from streetneat here. Yes I have crossed the ditch and no Im not a Kiwi! Im in the north Island- Waikato region out in the hills in a place called Waingaro. And yes I still restore Old Holdens when asked. I now have my new workshop up and running. The website pretty much covers most of whats required but if you want to know more dont hesitate to ask or flick me an email.
