I have a 3 speed gearbox out of an xb that my dad bought recoed back in the early 80s but he couldnt use it in his 6 cyl ute because apparently it is a v8 box but he didnt know for sure. So, how does one id a 3 speed v8 box? Bigger/longer input shaft? more splines? I would much appreciate any info any of you good people could offer.
Cheers
Garry

I was under the impression that externally the 6 and V8 boxes are the same therefore interchangeable. Valiant and P76 versions of the same box have longer input shafts with finer splines than the Ford variant.

Could you post a photo of the box up?

Vandals and graffiti "artists" do everyone a favour and target parking meters and fixed speed cameras only.
