Any you guys had any problems with the MSD geared starter motors.Just installed a new one and tried to start the engine and the starter ingaged but is making a wirring noise.The gear is engaged to about 2/3 to 3/4 of the ring gear teeth but did'nt seem to engage to turn the engine over.How much of the gear has to come out of the starter motor in relation to the ring gear as I'm just wondering if it need s to come out further before it engages the other gaers in the starter to turn the engine over

you can usally lever the gear out with a screw driver to see if it meshes properly, then adjust the shims to suit. not usre if this helps pete.
