With the eventual phasing out of unleaded fuel in NSW and the ever increasing price of PULP due to indexation, currently 14c higher than ULP, has anyone converted a LS1 to run on E10?

What conversion ? E10 will run in any petrol engine. In my experience E10 will perform better in an LS1 that standard 91 unleaded.
The only grief with E10 is with older cars where the older type rubber compounds used for hoses & diaphragms are adversely affected by ethanol. However, just about any EFI car built in the last 15+ years will have no trouble with E10 at all. Export Holdens sold in Brazil use E85 & I understand that E85 programmed engines will be released this year in the VE Series II in regular production.
The downsides of E10 are the affect on the older rubber materials & the small loss in efficiency (MPG). The upsides are that it costs slightly less (makes up for the efficiency) & that it has a higher octane rating (95 vs 91). Ethanol is nothing more than plain old methylated spirits.
I use E10 in all my old girls, because in Sydney, E10 is sold everywhere as the 'normal' fuel. I've changed all the old fuel hoses & overhauled the carby etc. I use a fuel additive because the heads are original (no hardened seats), but I have no problems at all. What you do notice is that if the car is left parked for a long period (several weeks or more) the fuel has all evaporated from the carby. It's evaporation rate is higher than older fuels, but this problem wouldn't be seen on any EFI car.
