Noticed there are 2 part numbers, 1 for 6 cyl 7449303 and 1 for V8 7449304. They both have a cyl number selector on the back, so what would be the difference between them?

To change the switch you have to remove the tacho from the rubber housing. So the part number on the plate on the bottom is the only difference.

So, the selection of 6 or 8 is confirmed when it's made up into an assembly and the part number on the plate is the identifier for the picker.
