Thanks: 2 times
Was talking to the owner of a resto business today and he has heard the story that GMH has kept lots of tooling going way back, stored and archived apparently. After hearing what happened to the microfiche records I am dubious.

Can anyone shed some light on this story one way or the other?

There is some old tooling. They need to be stored and maintained to be useful, so cost money. Like a car, you cant just put them in a shed for years without touching them, they need to be opened, lubricated etc.

Because it costs money to store tooling, it gets discarded some time after the part is declared obsolete. Rare Spares has had the opportunity to get some of this tooling.

The key word here is SOME.
