I had the rear springs from a HQ one tonner Utility reset several years ago and this morning when cleaning out the garage I noticed one is 5 cms shorter than the other, is this normal or has the spring place stuffed up.

Push down on the shorter one, and do the reverse to the other. It may just be how they are sitting.
