Hi all,just trying to find out how hard it is to get past history of a 1972 hq coupe ive owned since 1995,say first owner etc,I know the history from approx 1975 on,but he bought it off a car yard in Tamworth,so no history before,the plates were a 1975 issue.Ben Stewart has helped me out with engine number.the state it was sent to (qld)and the dealer who ordered it(number 520,who he does not know),i contacted nsw and qld rego offices but from approx 1995 on there is no history.any tips would help,cheers

enter the car in local car shows with a sign about previous history.

Try here, I found them very helpful. In my case they were able to go back to 1992 and the car had it's original plate up to then so I got the info I wanted. http://www.tmr.qld.gov.a...ight-to-Information.aspxI made it clear that I didn't want to know any previous owners details etc, which seemed to speed the process right up.
