HI,
I am going to sell and I was wondering what the average price of a HG going these days. It's all original, apart from the bucket seats in the front, but still have the bench. Interior is a bit shabby, but what you would expect for a vehicle of that age that has had no restoration work done to it at all. The body is rust free apart from a bit the size of a 50 cent piece on the bottom of the right front guard. New exhaust, plus motor was rebuilt and bored out to a 192. I am the third owner and only purchased it a couple of months ago. The man before me had owned it for35 years. I am selling because i can't afford to restore it, plus i am buying a road bike for the simple fact of the price of fuel. I would be thankful if someone could give me a selling price. My email is [email protected].
thanks,
Joe

In my interest in HG's I would expect between $2000 and $10,000. Some of the factors that increase value are desirable or rare colours, accessories or options, and cash value items like new windscreen, new tyres, rego, LPG conversion, fuel in tank
If it is old or rare - Cut it! http://www.ehlimo.com.au/

Hi Joe,

Surely the person you bought it from had some idea what it was worth - having owned it for 35 years! So it is probably worth what you paid for it. Were there others looking at it when you bought it?

Or did you get it for mates rates?

It could be worth half what you paid for it, twice what you paid for it or the same as you paid for it. Or it could be none of the above.

Thanks for the reply guys.
I saw the car when i drove past it a few times, and thought i would ask if he would sell it. Sure enough, he was willing to part with it, and i got him down to 3000. Anyway, my dream car is a hk monaro ( like a lot of people out there) and this was the next best thing. I really don't want to part with it, but we are going through tough times, and can't afford to do anything to it , let alone keep it. my goal is to buy another one when we get back ontop of thing's, but for the time being, I need a bike more. Petrol prices are killing us and i will save $70- $80 just on fuel. I have put some pics on, so if anyone can give me a rough estimate, or if anyone want's to buy it, please let me know.
Thanks again.
Joe

Funny how when you are selling something it is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it, but when you have bought something it is not worth what you were willing to pay for it!
