Hi All

I know this issue has been raised a number of times, but i was hoping to try and get a little clarity.

My HJ has a black dash (no silver markings) but has white needle instruments.

What i was hoping to sort out was:

1. Was it only HJ that had the white needle instruments;
2. Will those instruments fit behind a black dash without modification (cant see why not but sometimes things that you cant see change from model to model); and
3. Is there any chance that the dash that i have is original?

Thanks

Mark

HX had white needle as well, but the speedo had the high beam light in it. HJ has high beam indicator in the idiot lights below the clock. The dash is the same regardless of colour, but the wiring harness has some small differences due to high beam light changes etc.
Some HJ had the center vent deleted depending on if they optioned forced air induction or not.Early HJ also only had 5 numbers in the odometer, but changed to 6 later.Yes it could be original.

I think its was Dr Terry that said that with the intro or ADR 27a the fascia warning Brake light changed from "Brake" to "Brake fail" in line with the blue high beam light into the speedo.

AFAIK pre 9/75 is 5 digit ODO, than sometime shortly after changed to 6 digit ODO.

yes this issue had been raised several times, and is still not entirely clear,. if you PM absinth he will give a better answer.

It might appear as a shameless plug, but Absinth did a quick video on the GTS dash that you might find helpful.

White needle gauges were in the HJ and HX as stated. The HJ dash was silver but a black facia is basically the same. I have an HZ one with the RTS badge on it in my HJ because I used an RTS subframe.
Cheers,
Pete.
