HT (not sure about HG) GTS 253, 4spd with banjo all had tramprod as did 308, 4spd with 10bolt wasnt standard on any auto or 6cyl but was an option regards DD www.bellarineclassicautos.com.au

I'd have to check up but i'm pretty sure all V8 manual HK-HG GTS had radius rods although I do remember Warren stating not all HK V8 manual got them. I'm also pretty sure the only HK 337 and 737 that you could optiona a 10 bolt on were V8 examples ie no 6cyl with Salisbury and pretty early in the piece 737 V8 got Salisbury standard. |

HK started the options game. But I don't think salisbury was optional on anything till after the 1837 (am I allowed to say Bathurst) monaro came along. As for radius rods probably optional on anything after the HK GTS either 6cyl or 8 cyl release....Jack

That is pretty right Jack, the Salisbury only became available after Monaro release (not just 1837 release). Radius rods (option GN2) only came with 4spd on V8 GTS (most 307 4spd got them). I'm pretty sure all 307 4spd HK actually got a Salisbury though. |

i will let you off jack for the BATHURST comment m8 lol but 1837 wasnt the only car to be released with radius rods in the hk range as i said in my above post every hk 307 4 speed that i have come across has had them and im yet to find one that hasnt had them....

Summerising what I've said above. Radius rods became available as an option after HK GTS release. Not all HK 307 4 speeds were necessarily a GTS though. It would be a very rare car now but an 80337 V8 4speed, that is a base monaro with optional 307 cu inch or 327 for that matter, 4 speed is not a GTS and would not as standard come with radius rods. But at the same time not all GTS come standard with radius rods either ie 186s auto did'nt.........But, as a reverse of the original question above. Was radius rods an option on 6 cylinder base monaro, 80337 with a banjo diff ?....Jack

Radius rods were with V8 4spd only and only on GTS. 327 was only available on 1837. |

The 327 was not a production option. It was standard on & exclusive to the HK 81837. The radius rods were standard on HK 81837 & also HK 80737 when fitted with the 307 4-sp Saginaw combination. AFAIK they were optional on other model HKs. I've seen many 307 Powerglides with radius rods, but whether they were factory optioned or dealer fitted is difficult to prove without the car's broadcast sheet. Dr Terry |

Going by Ben and Warren on HK the radius rods were with V8 4spd and GTS only, but some L30 M21 GTS missed out. AS Dr Terry says very hard to know if 307 auto were dealer fitted or not. You'd suspect not factory as auto in HT deleted the radius rods but it also deleted the GTS suspension on 837. Would have also had to have wheel spacers fitted as well to clear the rods in HK. |
