This is my pride and joy. Had it for about 3 months and bought it for......well lets just say a good price.

I am planning ot make it a Sandman Replica Ute. I got the GTS dash fitted in and soon will be putting in the GTS steering wheel. Next to buy will be the guards, grill, 253 engine then the GTS rims. Then it is off to the paintshop.

Absolutely no rust in this girl. The rust that was there was plated and was resprayed last November. Paint isn't too bad for a home job (wasn't me though), but can be alot better.

I will keep you updated with pics etc, but don't expect too much in a hurry.

Thanks Tom.

It now has the GTS steering wheel, GTS rims and I have the 253 that I am slowly rebuilding and hopefully will be in my ute in the next couple of months.

Not a fan of the wheels but it looks great for a home paint job

That's great, my HQ just has a 202 ('cause I'm on my P plates) with some work done; 350 holley carby, extractors, 2.5" exhaust, twin thermo fans & and an alloy radiator. Not anything extreme but it makes a big difference.

I find my 202 chews the fuel. I am hoping the the 253 will be easier on the fuel. $40 will get me about 150km. What gearbox you running?

I have an Aussie 4 speed with a 3:08 Limited Slip Diff. Just got the standard single throat stromberg carby and extracters.

I don't really mind as the 253 will be ready soon.

Yeah mine does too, I think it's safe to say it isn't the most economical engine ever.
Just the factory four speed manual with 3.36:1 LSD, I want to put in a new gearbox (auto) but I'm not sure what to go with.
No worries, mate.

No offence, but I can sleep easier at night now knowing it just isn't my engine then. All 202's seem to like a drink.
