Hi, Guys. I have asked this question before but, I still have found no information, so I'm still looking for ideas on what this number may indicate.
I have a VK 304 with a standard engine number on the blocks left pad VA565003, however the right side pad is also stamped with
AR 08 92 016 95 that last 95 maybe 9.5
The second number is stamped just as neatly and in the same font as the left side number. I am guessing AR maybe a Victorian engine builder and 08 may mean it is now 308 not 304.
Does anyone have any idea on what the rest might mean.

08 could be August 92 when the engine was redone, and the rest could be a job #.
304 & 308 are identical bar the machining datum of the crank's big-end journals. |
