Hi All, I was going to get some HJ - Z GTS vent inserts welded into a pair of HZ guards but I was just reading a build up a guy was doing on an HJ LS (post listed on Old Holden Dated 2008) and he had some flutes pressed into his guards. Is this still being done and by who (I am in Brisbane) and is it successful? I have had some so called "genuine" GTS guards on my toner and the RHS fitted perfectly following the profile of the door nicely but the LHS didn't match at all. The problem being were the top of the guard should hollow out to the centre line was flat so it sat proud of the door slightly and the were the lower area should buldge out from the centre line down to the lower part of the guard (Behind the vents) was also flat so it sat in from the door (Did that all make sense??). To me the vents in this guard had either been pressed in affecting the factory lines/profile of the guard or the guard was a cheap Taiwanese copy (Do they do them??). I have seen WB guards on ebay listed as genuine GTS guards which always gives me a little chuckle but somebody must be pressing the vents in or reproducing the guard. Cheers MS

I was very happy with them, panels look original. I had mine done through Barsbys Holden Wreckers. They would not let me know who it was, but found out later as they wanted their cut. I eventualy found out who it was and thought it was Daves, but I will check it out when I remember where I put his details.
Cheers,
Pete.

Thanks Pete, I will get onto them and see if they are still doing it. Any body you would recommend for a paint job. I have a WB Statesman needing a paint at the moment. Cheers Lee

Not much help I'm afraid, the bloke who did mine has retired. Most blokes around are only interested in insurance work, mostly remove and replace.
Cheers,
Pete.
