Hi,
can anyone help me with a 308 red motor engine number Q93????P
I have checked with Queensland police and the number is not one of theirs and it doesn't look like a back yard restamp and it would be a strange number to restamp considering the car it is in, the car is not registered so I cant go through the motor registry, and it is a queensland car
it is definantly not a QT or a 11QT or a QU engine prefix
can anyone please help???

QLD Police. Q is QLD. 93 is 1993. ???? is the sequence number. P is Police. NSW and VIC had the same system. |

thanks for the info, very helpful,
queensland police only could tell me that it was a commodore motor, I believe it to be a 1984 brock motor, it is currently in a LX torana,
for what reason/s would Queensland police have had to re-stamp the engine number???
help is much appreciated

If the engine or chassis doesn't have a number it has to be allocated one. When you go to register it, if there is no number, and after it has been investigated/inspected you are allocated a number and you get it stamped.
Normally they have no numbers either after rebuild (blocke decked) or if they are stolen and/or recovered.
It may once have been a HDT engine but now it is just another 308! Once the original numbes are gone it is just a block. |
