VK cluster is unique to VK. Earlier ones won't fit.
The individual guages swap out, and you can fit a tacho into the VK cluster in place of your vacuum guage.
Should be plug-n-play as the wiring for the tach is in all VK harnesses.
Cheers,

Mick

John - "VK cluster is unique to VK. Earlier ones won't fit."

The entire cluster VB-VH will not fit into the VK. The dash itself is markedly different where the cluster fits in. Only the VK cluster can be used in a VK.

While the guage mechanicals are still the same, their faces are unique to VK as well. The VB-VH speedo on it's own will be a round peg in a square hole scenario - you can fit it into the VK cluster housing, but you won't be able to see anything at night except the exposed areas of the cluster, and the woeful dash lights won't light it up properly either.
Cheers,

Mick

Harder again.... their mounting arrangement is even more different. You are stuck with the VK cluster unless you can manufacture something custom, or spend a s***load of time, effort & fibreglass trying to adapt other models.
Cheers,

Mick

Mick have a look at gumtree ad no. 1037485863 (WA ad) for interesting conversion, but i imagine running the dash conversion would be a hassle. but it looks good.
maybe have to fit turbo box to get speedo drive

He has custom-mounted VS instruments over the top of the VK cluster. Not a real neat job though.
You can do this with aftermarket gauges if you like.

Unless you want to custom fabricate a whole mask for the VK, you can't fit earlier gauges - which is what you originally asked, and what my reply was based on.
Cheers,

Mick

hey Mick i really appreciate your help, i have to say until i really looked at it closely i did not notice the finish on the conversion it was more the general appearance i was looking at.
i would guess the problem with the speedo is that you have to get a speed sensor adaptor somehowprobably easier to get an earlier dash and adapt that.
regards
john
