This fella is claiming that Holden made 250 SS's with supercharged 6's. Any truth in that?? I thought SS was V8 only.

Supercharged engine was a delete option in an SS at some stage. I think it was a homologation car for production car racing or something like that. Dr Terry or Commodorenut will know the specifics. |

Standard production option in VT. No set numbers, just however many were ordered by customers.
Initially when the supercharged 6 was released in VS2, they only allowed it in Calais, Statesman & Caprice. For VT, they expanded it to include the SS. In VX it went further - you could get a Berlina with it. By VY you could even option it in an S.
There was a limited run of VP SS V6s that were done for production car racing - that's probably where the limited numbers part of his myth has sprung from. |
Cheers,

The Grant Hackett cars were limited edition builds of the VTII HSV Club Sport. 200 were made (including R8 versions) in Aug 2000. Dr Terry |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

I had one of those commo's but I got rid of it after finding it wandering all over the road at the casino after midnight while wearing only its underpants and clutching a singlet. Stilnox in the tank didn't help I'm afraid. Edited by user Friday, 27 June 2014 2:43:08 AM(UTC)
