A mate has a XD ute that has a recod 302 cleveland in it. The thing sounds awsome and goes not to bad. It's got a lumpy cam in too. The problem is the thing isnt making any power. They spent $2000 on the engine reco and the ute can barely do a stand-still. What could be the problem? One thing we may have put it down to is it might still have a 6cyl diff in it so the ratios might be wrong or the cam might no be dialled in or somethin. What are your guys thoughts?

A 6 cylinder ute diff is around 3.23:1, which would make it accelerate BETTER. Check your ignition timing.

It's a long shot but if the ignition timing is OK try checking the exhaust muffler. If the vehicle has been sitting a while it may have rusted internally and collapsed. As i said its a long shot but i have seen a 302 XB absolutely strangled as a rsult of
