Hi there guys, i just bought myself a Hurst Indy Shifter to put on my toploader, the thing is it comes with spacers, brackets etc which offset the shifter a fair way from the centre of the car........just wondering if any of you's have installed one without using all the spacers etc, and made it closer to the centre of the car, because if installed with all the accessories it would be almost touching the passenger's seat......thanks in advance - Mark

I fitted one a few years back and although the shifter was great they are a pain in the proverbial to mount without some level of modification. I eventually manufactured my own shift rod because the original was too far towards the passenger side no matte

Hi
If you are talking about the rod that pushes the throwout fork and goes between the throwout fork and the z bar, Ford makes one that is offset for that reason. I just finished a similar conversion in my 64 Galaxie Convertible.
