Hi all,
I have often wondered what the offical "engine immobiliser" that is sanctioned by the department of transport, etc, actually is. Remember the media exposure we copped with regard to having an immobiliser fitted for under a certain amount? It was an attempt to get car theft down...
Well, what does such a system consist of? I currently have several switches around the cabin that ground the negative lead of the coil. Is that pretty much all they can do to early engines? What would the "pro's" do if they had to fit one of these $150 immobilisers to a HQ vintage vehicle?

Basically in WA it has to immobilise 2 ciruits of either starter, ignition or fuel, and has to automatically set itself after a set period, like 30 seconds I think. The HQ doesn't need one but a HZ does, and it has almost exactly the same wiring. They p
