i have a reco n308 in my wb ute. the engine number starts with qt, this tells me that the block at least is from an hq-hz. but im not sure if the heads are from same. will it make a difference if i buy spark plugs to suit a wb or hz??

Yes,
The Red and Blue heads had different length spark plugs. What is the number on your manifold - this may tell you if you have red or blue head on your block. You could even check the plug you have in it already.
