John Thanks for the tips I cannot say that I haave felt the temperature of the dipper when it starts to play up, but what are the chances of both new dippers being faulty?
Do you think I sholud get a sparky to try to trace the fault or fit realys or is there something I could try myself first before I visit my friendly local Auto electrician??

About the best advice I can give is try to trace the headlight leads from the lights to the dipswitch and look for loose connections frayed wires etc., you should really undo the connectors and examine them, especially the dipswitch end because it can get
