I am doing a vn ss 5.0 mtr & trans conversion in a 46 chev aero. Because here in New Zealand not a lot of holden EFI v8 conversions have been done, I am staggering in the dark. I chose VN because I got told it is the easiest conversion? But did I get everything from the wrecker? (Ican go back for more parts) I got mtr, box, external fuel pump, computer, efi relay setup. Is this enough? My fuel tank will be mounted behind the back seat (so higher than the mtr.) also is there a way to change the electric speedo end in trans to a manual drive?Thanx

Full block inc heads and headers injection rail (pressure regs, efi hose clamps etc) wiring loom and computer injectors and fuel filters manifold Fuel pumps, vn ss have 2 from memory. one in tank and one out,

The MAF sensor on the firewall is often forgotten when buying engines. Just make sure it is in your collection of parts.

Hi Taz2
The sensor on the firewall is the MAP sensor (manifold air pressure) not MAF.
The MAF sensor (manifold air flow) is only seen on V6 VS onwards & V8 VT onwards.

Hi,
the VN does have a MAP sensor, you may have overlooked this?
my GMH manuals all state it does and indeed my conversion uses one too.
Cheers

Hi Guys.
OOPS again.
MAF is MASS air flow sensor, not manifold air flow sensor.
Sorry about that.

Whoops....apologies for misleading information. I was thinking of the bits that usually get left behind when we pull engines out of commodores at work, rather than which engine configuration was being asked about :-(
