I’ve got a VL commodore and the other day I experienced some chugging when driving home. I was driving up a series of steep hills in power when suddenly I started to loss power and it started to chug. I then eased off and took it out of power and got to the top of the hill and then it was fine. It was a really hot day but the temp gauge reading was ok. I recently changed the fuel filter and I also just put a new fuel pump in. My back speakers also cut out just before the chugging started. Is it likely to just have been the hot weather, any ideas on what went wrong appreciated

I had chugging in my VL on HOT days too. I believe it may be LIMP HOME MODE. It used a tonne of fuel, but never overheated. VL gurus here may have other ideas, but I figured it was computer/air sensor based. I didnt worry about it. FWIW - John

Chances are it is the crank angle sensor. Went in my VL and just about any other. Try starting it and shaking cables connecting to the distributor and see if the idling changes.
