I recently bought a 1 tonner with an M22 and the diff ratio is so low that I`m nearly bouncing valves in 1st before my rear wheels even cross the line when taking off at an intersection, at first I didnt mind because I bought it for work to carry loads, but even for that I dont think it needs to be that low!! is this usual and can it be raised a lottle and still be able to work hard, other than that shes a bloody beauty.

Fit a 3.08 diff. With an M22 this will give you an effective 4th gear of 3.08:1, and a 1st of 11.52:1. This effective 1st gear is equivalent to an M20 with a 3.78 ratio diff. What I'm getting at is an M22 is a wide ratio box with a 1st gear ratio 0f 3.74:
