As i said a few posts ago, i have finished my engine build of a injected 308 with VN top end, but the problem is, i have no spark and no injection pulse, also the Fuel pump relay is not clicking on. I can only crank the car over, and ideas??? All the other relays click on. I am using the standard VN loom which i only intergrated into the injection setup, the original VK wiring loom controls all the normal VK stuff. Can i get a special loom for this purpose?? Cheers

Make sure the connector to the computer is plugged in really tight. I put a big hose clip around it and tightened it up. I found the slightest bit loose could cause problems. Are you sure the fuel pump relay is working? The factory shop manual and Gregory

When I was having troubles getting my injected 202 to start I took the pump relay out and carried it around until I saw a VK injected, then I asked the owner if they would mind if I tested the relay on their car. They may be a bit reluctant to do the comp

There could be one other thing. There is a wire coming from the engine loom for the security system. If this isn't hooked up to 12v then the same fault as you describe is the result. Check your wiring diagram for the colour.

I woould suggest gettin

Hey all,
Steve's on the money, if you've done the wiring conversion yourself it WILL be the security wire. This wire is usually NOT SHOWN in service manuals other than the genuine holden workshop manuals (I think the wire is purple) I had this problem

Did you hook 12V up to the pink wire that connects to the VN/VP dash loom? This is in a plug near to the ECU, and will be inside your cabin. It's the same connector that you would connect to for your diagnostic light. The easiest way to connect this is to

Sorry to steal your fire Byron but its probably not a good idea to cut power to the ECU as a kill switch(as suggested with the pink wire) because then each time you use the kill switch the IAC will need to be reset(holding the engine at 2500rpm for 10 sec

Forgot about that. I remember the WB we did it on wouldn't idle properly everytime we used the switch. Still possibly the problem with the original question though.

Yes it will stop spark. The wire comes from the engine loom, via a relay from memory, but your leccy should be able to sort it out for you. Post back when you get it sorted.

Cheers, Steve.
