Thanks for the tip re capacitors on the circuit board. My father in law is an electronics guru and I paid 60c for 2 capacitors, he changed them and it hasnt stopped since.

What type or brand of capacitors are they? My clock doesn't work either and that sounds like it might be worth a shot.

G'Day Kev...I am no expert but here goes. On each capacitor there is a description of capacity and voltage and you need to replace them with the same or higher.The ones I used were 10mfch @25V,47 mfch @ 50V. This was the desc on the side of the capacitors

No worries. Shawn is going to have a look at it and swap the capacitors over to see if that fixes it. The ute is officially off the road today for a month or two (rego's up and have to pay the Astra rego next week). So I'll pull the clock n

Yep, capacitors... the clock is up and running again. Although mine only cost 45 cents. Gave my brother an extra 5 cents for labour. Thanks Andrew.
