Have just put a GTS dash in the Prem. Hooked up the Temp part ok of the temp/battery guage, but not sure if I have got the battery guage working. I am assuming that the earth strap at the bottom of the guage is a common earth for both parts of the guage. Have hooked up the battery part to the back of the fuse pannel in one of the ports the come on with the ignition switch and have run the alt wire direct to the power output of the alternator. The problem is that the guage doesn't move off the middle of the dial. I know that I have a circut because the plug of the fuse pannel that i picked now runs the stero even when the ignition is off. And the Temp guage is working fine. Is the battery guage supposed to stay in the middle like that?.

It is common for the batt part of the guage to be faulty, you will have to get the guage repaired if you want a fully operational dash. Kevin

Hi Guys.

The 'battery' gauge in an HQ is actually an ammeter & as such, has to be wired between the battery & the rest of the car in the main battery line (the 6 mm red one, not the starter cable).

Get an HQ workshop & you will see
