Hey guys, I am from China, can anyone tell me that whether Holden Statesman is using the same chassis and same suspension as Commodore?
Beside these, what eles parts are they sharing?
I really need to know, thank you guys!!

Yes the Statesman is totally based on the Commodore.

Apart from the obviouis external panel changes, the longer wheelbase & the extra standard fittings they are the same basic car.

The GM China, Buick Royaum is the same basic car as the Statesman/Caprice line, with different grille etc. That is, it is a Commodore with the longer wheelbase.

To my knowledge they will not offer the 5.7 V8 in China, the 2005 cars will

the statesman has a different chassis, steering ratio, steering mounts, tailshaft, diff and several others.
they are losely based on the commodore.

Hi Guys.

These cars don't have a chassis, they have an integral body frame & the wagon is almost identical, but the front & rear subframes are the same as a Commodore. The steering ratio on the earlier cars (VQ II to WH) was the same as the base Commod

Dr Terry is 100% correct as usual. Holden have always kept the same philosophy since the HQ in 1971. The wagon, ute/van and Statesman have always been the same wheelbase, with only the sedan and 1-tonner being the odd ones out (sedan shorter, tonner longe
