I have a detroit locker in my 9 inch diff and whenever I slow up to an intersection etc, it makes a bit of a clunk. The loudness of which depends on how hard I deaccelerate. Is this normal, do they normally make a bit of noise as I dont know anyone else with one I would like to here about other peoples experience with these centres.
cheers Bracks

Bracks, sounds like you are getting backlash. Have you checked your universal joints in the tailshaft? If they are OK might have something to do with the centre. Being a locker you won't have to worry about limited slip stuff going worng. Detroit locke

Backlash in the diff is fine, unis are 10000kms old American made and look good. This noise has only started since I put the locker in, the center was setup by a "pro".
