Just wondering if someone could tell me whether Houndstooth cloth was available on 73 GTS 4 doors as i'd like to fit it to a 73 that didn't get the cloth option.I've been told by a trimmer that it wasn't available as an option in 73 only 71-2?.Also is anyone aware of a different pattern for the bootlid gts panels other than the most common.I'm looking at purchasing a 73 GTS 4 door and the owner tells me that when recently painted the unusual gts bootlid blackouts on this car were copied exactly from the car's factory original paint.Basically instead of finishing just below the botom of the bootlid as per normal then curving on the corners these just run all the way like two solid stripes from top to bottom with a narrow stripe either side of these seperated by about 20mm.The front panels are normal.Any expert opinions out there would be much appreciated. Thanks

I am sure houndstooth was only in the 1st series of HQ, being 71-72.

And time to redo the bootlid....curved they do !

Cloth inserts were available for every year of HQ Monaros.
The id plate should list the trim code.
Regarding the strips on the boot...I've never seen continuous strips as you've described. However, I'm no expert though :-(

I have just checked and the 71-72 series DID have houndstooth. The 73-74 series did not. The later series had Royal Cord in the LS, Raydo (like houndstooth) in the Monaro, and Ranier only in the GTS 4 door.

WHAT TRIM CODE DO U HAVE ???

Cheers John
