Hi
I have just had my head gaskets replaced and my heads serviced having new valves guides and hardened valve seats so I can run straight PULP on my Black 308 VK.

I had a KC 308M ( Killkenny Castings) Inlet manifold installed as my one was pitted very bad near the water inlet I note on the KC308M that there are 3 bolt holes in the centre 2 have puch out plugs for obvious fittings to earlier 308 & 253 models The mechanic has only used the one hole bining tha main hole on the top face.

On my origional inlet manifold two bolts were used, this is over the Exhaust inlet to heat the manifold instead of water on the older models.

My question is will not having the second bolt to hold the manfold down affect the manifold, Will it warp or case the gasket to fail, etc.
Cheers Ken

Any info muchly appreciated

Just remove the welch plugs stuck in the holes and put the bolts back in. If you have extractors the manifold shouldn't warp. What used to happen a lot is the bi-metal strip flap in the original exhaust used to stick partly shut and a lot of exhaust would

Remember to only pull out the top or bottom plugs (whichever is there). The centre one needs to stay as it's for red heads.
