I have a late 2000 LTD and I am getting a very unpleasant odour in the cabin on hot days (above 30). There is no evidence of a coolant leak and I have not had to top up the water at all. The smell goes away if I manually change the climate control to recirculate.

have you checked the drain plug on the left hand side under the car where the ac drips if it isnt dripping then i would say its blocked and backing up the condensation.
