took the missus VC to melb a couple of weeks ago (about 2 hr drive) usually it just runs on gas all the time but we ran it on petrol down the freeway. once we hit melb we switched it back to gas and now the bastard wont idle on gas and is very sluggish in the lower rev range. it runs fine on petrol, but is a tempremental P.O.S. and wont start on petrol. ran the tank of gas out in case we got crap fuel, checked for vacum leaks and i cant find anything wrong. its an old style gas setupwith the air filter throught the snorkel. any ideas, thius is the first time its played up in the 2 years we have had it

On top of the snorkel ther should be a sliding leaver, this is usualy attached to a choak cable leading back into the car. The idea of this is to shut the diaphram on the gas system when you run it on fuel, if this is not done the diaphram ruptures and th |
