I am replacing the noisey horsepower sapping fan on my EB with a pair of EF fans.
I believe that one of the EF fans cuts in and out with the airconditioning compressor & they both cut in for cooling duties.
My question is which fan cuts in with the compressor? the drivers side or the passenger side fan or is it both? |

No. They are controlled by the ECU and a trigger via the aircon.
How they work in a simpler form is :
a) low speed fan (on at just over normal temp)
b) high speed fan (on when the temp gets higher than the ECU likes)
Both fans can be triggered |

Thanks for that Brendan. It looks like I have one single speed motor (2 wires) & one 2 speed motor (3 wires)
A couple more questions the 2 speed motor has 3 wires 1 black (negative?) 1 white and 1 red. if I connect all three It runs at high speed is |

No problems.
The black wire ground.
All the other wires are "+" power.
If you don't connect the white wire you won't get the highest speed. I joined the white wire and the red wire together and connected them to a relay to make sure they ran at fu |

You can run the fan on eitherside. It doesn't matter. Factory low speed is on the passenger side and high speed on the driverside. XB Fairmont sedan : [email protected] |
