My left rear power window decided to cease operating this week. Luckily it did this in the up position. Prior to this it had been slow (going up and down in pulses) and sounding like the motor was labouring. I figured I'd just give it a dose of silicon spray when I got back from my trip and she'd all be good.
Anyway, I've pulled the door trim and plastic moisture guard off and have given every friction point in sight a liberal application with silicon spray. Nothing. I have since noticed that the window is not 100% up, though you can't see the top of the glass.
When you try the switches in the up direction, nothing happens. When you push them in the down direction, about a second after you've pushed the switch, there is an audible click from inside the door. Another 2 seconds later it clicks again. Once again with no movement from the window. I can't seem to isolate which component the click is coming from. The click sounds like a relay or a circuit breaker clicking in and out. What are your thoughts? Clearly the switches are working, but what isn't?

The clicking is probably a thermal overload switch getting hot because the motor can't move & breaking the circuit.
Try getting someone to have a hand on each side of the glass (with the door open) pulling the glass down as you work the switch.

Thanks for your responses fellas.
Ok , had another look today. I was able to push the glass down fairly easily, but cannot get it back up now. Now I have a window stuck down, does anyone have any tips on how to get it up again. I imagine I will have to
