Hi all,
Just fitted a brand new Holden V8 cold airbox to my VP and everything fit perfectly until time to close the hood, it doesn't! The far right hand section of the air inlet 'mouth' hits one of the bonnet braces so it sits about 1" from shutting. All screw holes etc for airbox line up and fit correctly so is there another version of the 'mouth' that isn't as wide? Any ideas guys, still have bag with part numbers I can fish out of bin if needed to check.
thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben.

The cold air box intake chute will only fit VR & VS. These were only fitted by Holden to VS II & III. They were not designed to fit VN/VP.

On VN & VP it will hit the bonnet braces & has to be modified.

Dr Terry.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Now that's strange.....
We have a VN Aero in the yard at present, and it has a genuine GM cold air intake.
Fits under the bonnet perfectly.
The mouth does look very narrow.
Will check it out today....provided my brain stays in gear that long, and I re

A neat trick is to locate where it's hitting, heat that area of the duct with a heat gun, then drop the bonnet.

Do this a few times & it will push it into position - but make sure you don't collapse the duct across it's width - keep the heat only where
Cheers,

Mick

Checked out the Aero today.
You are absolutely right Dr.Terry.
The intake fits under the bonnet, but it does rub (just) on the LH bonnet support member.

Thanks Guys,
Guess I'll mark out where it hits and modify the edge a bit, or even try to heat and squash the end as suggested.
cheers,
Ben

Hi guys,
Haven't had a chance to modify to fit yet, anyone have pics or weblinks of similar VN-VP with airbox, don't want to go chopping or reshaping to find out it still won't work. Haven't got a hot glue gun and a hairdrier prob wouldn't get enough hea
