Triple SU's or Twin Carbs which would perform best for the ol grey donk and what else could be done on the grey without going overboard

I often see twin stromberg carby manifolds for these at swap meets. I have seen a triple carb setup (CD stromberg I think) but I would imagine that this would be a lot of carburation for a tiny little motor. My honest opinion on grey motors is that unless |

Twin Strombergs would be by far the easiest and cheapest. Triple SUs were very popular and were the top street setup on grey motors in the 50s and 60s but in those days every wreckers were full of all sized SUs and there were plenty of mechanics around wi

Triples were always a bugger to tune but I don't think they would overcarburate remember the feed to each bore is the same no matter how many carbs each cylinder will only draw in what it can. The important thing would be the correct jetting.The main thin

For tuning SU's, check out some of the Mini websites.
A few years ago I obtained a program (DOS based, tells you how many years) which you plugged in the number of cylinders the carb was feeding, the size of the carb and the size of the cylinder and |
