Hi and thanks for looking. I have just bought a VX SS and heard so much about different oils. from 5W-30 to 10W-40. i have always used Penrite HPR oils. can you use HPR 10 (10W-50) in a Gen 3. Or would another brand be better?

i would say HPR 10 is fine but im not 100% sure myself. but it looks like nobody here knows anything about them either.

If it becomes too rattly on HPR 5, then step up to 10.

A mate of mine with a very "loose" gen3 in a VX ex-cop is currently running 20W-40 to shut it up, and the pressure is still quite reasonable (not over the top).
